LOVE who you were made to be.

Lately, I've felt God laying it heavy on my heart to talk about the idea of perfection. More specifially, that so many of us right now are striving to be perfect in an imperfect world. There is this worldwide obsession with being accepted and seen by people that don't even know you. Many of us seek acceptance from people on social media more than acceptance from God, the one who fully knows us. We can get caught in this cycle of comparison which leads to the struggle of loving ourselves fully.

We are so worried about what the person to our right and left has that we rarely look at ourselves and like what we see. The reality right now is that so many of us care more about what someone can see with one snap of a picture than people seeing us for who we really are. Why is that?

Why do we seek validation in comments that half of the people don't really mean? Why do we let the amount of likes and comments we get on a picture determine how beautiful we feel? Not only that, but these pictures that we post have turned into showing others how pretty we are, how much money we have, and how cool that we are. All so that maybe in the eyes of someone scrolling through instagram we can feel like we are good enough, that we are loved. Well, let me tell y'all, I have been there before and what you are seeking you will not find. What our world is seeking can only be found through having faith in Jesus Christ our savior, our creator.

Genesis 1:27

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

We are told right here in the Bible that God created us in His OWN image. He did not create us so that we could look the same as the person on Instagram that we follow, or that we would look the same as the person standing right next to us. He created us in His image and He knows exactly what he was doing. In Luke 12:7 we are reminded to not have fear because God knows exactly what He is doing, He even knows the numbers of hairs on our head. How amazing!

God knows exactly how and why He created each of us, so why do we question if we are enough? Instead of comparing yourself to the person next to you, just compare your right to your left. Be thankful for what you do have and what you are able to do. Don't waste your time contaminating your thoughts with negativity and comparison. Speak kindly to yourself.

God sees you.

God FULLY knows you.

God loves you.

God is love.

True validation comes from Jesus. True happiness comes from Jesus. Everlasting joy comes from Jesus. Eternal love comes from Jesus. None of this comes from social media. It comes from the Son of God who sacrificed His life for us. His LIFE, like I just don't think that we ever realize how amazing that is. God is so in love with us that he sent his son down from heaven to die on the cross so that we can live and be forgiven from our sins. THAT IS SO AMAZING. There is no one who loves us more, yet we seem to forget this way too often.

Let's not just think about how amazing that can be, lets fully KNOW how amazing it is to be loved by God! When I started to realize that confidence in who you are comes from God's love for every part of you, my whole perspective immediately changed. Say YES to His love, and stop trying to please everyone else. Be exactly who you were made to be, I PROMISE that you will be so much happier.

Lets come on strong for Jesus in 2021! HE IS SO GOOD!

Come with me, let's spread His love!

XO,

M
